LoRaWAN became a national standard for IoT in Russia

2/02/2021

Rosstandart (Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology in Russia) approved the LoRaWAN protocol as one of the national standards in the field of IoT technologies, sensor networks and the Industrial Internet of Things.

Now the standard has been approved in the form of a preliminary national standard “Information technology. Internet of Things. An exchange protocol for high-capacity networks with a long range and low power consumption”. It defines the LoRaWAN network protocol and system architecture nationally optimized for mobile and stationary battery-powered end devices.

Along with the LoRaWAN standard, six more regulatory and technical documents have been approved that regulate the issues of terminology and reference (typical) architectures and were developed with the participation of experts from the Internet of Things Association (IoTAs) and other organizations.

All Vega-Absolute LoRaWAN equipment is fully compatible with the approved national standard, which makes it possible to use it for the management of housing and communal services, in agriculture, in the field of transport, as well as in industry and other ones.
